On watching having a coke with you on YouTube

The first time I heard Frank O'Hara's poem, Having a Coke With You, was in 2008. I was taking a poetry class at university. Each week we'd learn about a poet who exemplified some aspect of modernist poetics. Then, we'd all have to write poems that emulated the poet's particular style. The following week one student was selected to read their poem in front of the class out loud.
